(Blue-green, white, silver & blue splatter vinyl) the second album from American mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan fuses the band's traditional sound with influences from jazz, avant-garde and industrial music.
The second studio album by American mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan, Miss Machine, expands upon the more creative and experimental aspects of the band's sound. The album also marks the debut of vocalist Greg Puciato and bassist Liam Wilson. The band enlisted metalcore producer Steve Evetts for the album’s production.
Miss Machine was The Dillinger Escape Plan's first album since 1999, with the hiatus attributed to the recording of a brief EP featuring lead vocals from Mike Patton. Three music videos were created for the album: “Panasonic Youth", “Unretrofied" and “Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants" all directed by Josh Graham of Neurosis.
Drawing from their experience working with Mike Patton and the industrial influence of groups like Nine Inch Nails, the album became much more experimental, incorporating a greater amount of jazz-fusion elements and electronic sounds.
2024 reissue pressed on blue-green, white, silver and blue splatter vinyl, released via Relapse Records.
