We knew Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were cute as buttons and could act, but until La La Land came along we didn't know they could sing, too!
A musical is only as good as its music, so the fact that the La La Land soundtrack still tends to fly off the shelves as fast as we at Kop's Records can stock it nearly a decade along from the film's original theatrical release would seem to suggest that the music contained therein has achieved ageless appeal.
Also? How much more loveable did Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling become once we knew they could sing like angels? I mean, we all knew they were cute as buttons to begin with and could actually act on top of it. But ... sing, too? Just stop. You're both too adorable for words.
The La La Land soundtrack album contains many of the pair's jazzy duets from the Academy Award-winning musical romance, which -- like the film's instrumental score -- were composed by director Damien Chazelle's Harvard classmate Justin Hurwitz with occasional lyrical assistance from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. "Start A Fire," meanwhile, was written by Stone and Gosling's castmate John Legend, Marius de Vries and Hurwitz.
