Ruby da Cherry and $crim of $UICIDEBOY$ debut album "I Want To Die In New Orleans" tackles dark themes over energetic trap beats - now available on silver vinyl!
Ruby da Cherry and $crim are cousins from the 7th Ward of New Orleans and make up the influential rap group $UICIDEBOY$. With a massive cult following in the underground scene and collaborations with artists like Pouya, Germ, and Denzel Curry, they've released a vast amount of music on SoundCloud. "I Want To Die In New Orleans" is their debut studio album, though it's their 43rd project overall. $crim, using the alias Budd Dwyer, produced the entire album, with Juicy J— the group’s mentor and executive producer— co-producing "Phantom Menace." The album features a dark trap backdrop with heavy bass, rolling hi-hats, and unconventional samples like news clips and PSAs. The BOY$ tackle themes of depression, drug use, and suicidal thoughts, yet the tracks are energetic, with fans likely to mosh to songs like "122 Days," "Carrollton," "Krewe du Vieux (Comedy & Tragedy)," and "WAR TIME ALL THE TIME."
