(Indie exclusive, marbled yellow vinyl) Ship To Shore is the first album in more than five years from prolific English singer-songwriter Richard Thompson, released on New West Records. The album was recorded while Thompson lived in rock and roll's most cherished town Woodstock, New York.
Like any Richard Thompson album Ship To Shore is filled with grief, loss and spades of dark humor. It doesn't rock the boat too much when it comes to redefining Thompson's style. However, that doesn't mean that the album is lacking 'Ship To Shore' comes at a time when Thompson's particular mix of folk, rock and occasional sea shanties are more relevant and interesting than ever. The album contains some of Thompson's finest songwriting and solo's and he is backed by a phenomenal rhythm section consisting of drummer Michael Jerome
