Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Stop Making Sense, the greatest concert film ever made, with this deluxe vinyl reissue. This iconic 1984 film showcases American new-wave band the Talking Heads’ innovative fusion of punk, art rock, world music, and funk, featuring unique renditions of their greatest hits. The film was Independently financed by the band with a $1.2 million budget.
The film starts with a solo performance of the Talking Heads most iconic single "Psycho Killer", this specific rendition features a Roland TR-808 drum machine and an acoustic guitar. As the film progresses more band members are added to the lineup until eventually the whole band is present on the seventh track "Burning Down the House".
This 2024 40th anniversary reissue on heavyweight double vinyl features a photo booklet with never seen before images and new liner notes from all of the band members, released via Rhino Records.
