(180g, White & tan vinyl) celebrate the 20th anniversary of American rock band Taking Back Sunday's emo/pop punk masterpiece with this limited edition reissue.
For American rock band Taking Back Sunday, relationships were battles, and the turmoil with ex-friends and ex-lovers fueled the raw energy of Where You Want To Be, like any good disciple of the church of post-emo pop punk. Fans didn’t just sing along they screamed, pointed fingers, and channeled their teenage angst into every word Adam Lazzara and Fred Mascherino shout-sang. Despite the success of their first albumTell All Your Friends, the band continued to wage emotional wars and writhe in angst, with Where You Want To Be delivering emotional anthem after anthem.
While many bands collapse under creative differences or lineup changes, Taking Back Sunday pushed forward. Where You Want To Be captures the defiance of youth, the pain of mistakes, and the relentless pursuit of a dream. In "Bonus Mosh Pt. 2," Lazzara and Mascherino shout the chorus together: "It's love, it's love, it's love… make it hurt," embodying the intensity of their sound and spirit.
Taking Back Sunday was formed in 1999, they became icons of the emo and post-hardcore scenes, with Where You Want To Be showcasing their ability to turn personal strife into a powerful, unifying musical experience.
