2LP, tangerine edition, 1989 (Taylor's Version) is a pop album inspired by the music of the 1980s, featuring upbeat music created with synthesizers and drums.
Taylor Swift's *1989* marks her definitive break from her country roots. This album embodies pure pop joy and glides effortlessly with hit singles like "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Wildest Dreams," and "Out Of The Woods." She's moved beyond country, shunned dating, and built emotional defenses.
Named after the year of her birth, the album treats heartbreak more like a distant observation than a pressing emotion needing expression. Instead of reflecting on late-night arguments and dancing in the kitchen light, it focuses on glamorous tributes to bustling cities and casual weekend romances.
*1989* is remarkably cohesive, with every track fitting seamlessly together. It’s as if she crafted a central concept two years ago and developed all the songs around it.
