This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition of Wayne Shorter's "JuJu" delivers the iconic jazz tracklist in a stereo, all-analog, remastered format. Mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal, this entry into Blue Note's Classic Vinyl series presents "JuJu" in all new audiophile quality.

1964 was a landmark year for Wayne Shorter, marking a significant chapter in his musical journey. At the beginning of the year, Shorter was still with Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, contributing to influential Blue Note albums like "Free for All" and "Indestructible". That spring, he made his solo debut on the label with "Night Dreamer", and by summer, he had joined the Miles Davis Quintet, a lineup that would go on to be one of jazz's most iconic ensembles.

When Shorter returned to Blue Note in August, he recorded "JuJu" with a stellar trio of musicians closely associated with John Coltrane: pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Reggie Workman, and drummer Elvin Jones. The resulting album is a standout in Shorter's impressive discography, featuring six of his captivating original compositions.

Tracklist:

Side A:

1. Juju

2. Deluge

3. House Of Jade
