The 50th Anniversary Edition of Conrad Schnitzler's second album "Blau". "Blau" seamlessly continues where Schnitzler's first album "Rot" left off blending simple rhythms and Berlin School electronics.
The 50th Anniversary Edition of Conrad Schnitzler's second album "Blau".
The blue album ("Blau") offers a continuation of the foundation that Conrad Schnitzler laid down on his debut release the red ("Rot") album. The timbre, soundscapes and instrumentation are so similar that it almost seems that "Blau" starts where "Rot" finishes.
Conrad Schnitzler was a leading member of the Berlin School. The Berlin School was a group of electronic musicians from Berlin who in the early 70's started to formulate their own brand of minimalist music. This music was completely different from the pop and minimalist music of the West, students of the Berlin School embraced simple rhythms and opposed instrumental virtuosity. "Blau" is one of the Berlin School's finest creations.
