"Santana III" is back - now on translucent yellow vinyl in a deluxe heavyweight gatefold sleeve.
"Santana III" is an album of 'lasts'. It was the final album recorded with the original Woodstock lineup and the last to reach #1 on the Billboard charts until "Supernatural" in 1999. However, it also marks several significant 'firsts'; percussionist Coke Escovedo joins the band for the first time, as does Neal Schon (of Journey) on guitar—just 17 years old when they recorded the album.
"Santana III" is considered by many to be the band's creative and commercial peak. The sound is darker, rawer, and more driven, with Schon's rock 'n' roll edge complementing Santana's soaring high notes and soulful guitar fills. The percussion from Escovedo and Chepito is both fast and furious, while the album's minimal production adds to its timeless appeal.
"Santana III" is available as a limited edition of 1,500 individually numbered copies on translucent yellow vinyl, packaged in a deluxe heavyweight gatefold sleeve.
