American pop singer Chappell Roan's triumphant debut album chronicles her journey of self-discovery and first queer love, blending emotional vulnerability with high-energy pop anthems.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, American pop singer Chappell Roan's dynamic debut album, showcasses her resilience and artistry after a challenging period for the young artist. In 2020, Roan connected with producer Dan Nigro, igniting a creative partnership that led to the early release of “Pink Pony Club” as a promotional single. However, her former label dismissed the track, resulting in Roan’s abrupt departure.
Following this setback, she returned to her roots in Missouri. After a brief hiatus, Roan signed with Nigro's Amusement label, allowing her to craft an album that candidly explores her first queer love and her journey of self-acceptance. Upon its release, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess garnered widespread critical acclaim, propelling Roan into the spotlight. The album features standout singles like "Casual", "Pink Pony Club" and "Red Wine Supernova", highlighting her growth as an artist and her vibrant songwriting.
2024 Anniversary Edition pressed on two peach vinyl, released via Republic Records.
