"Emergency Third Rail Power Trip" is the debut album by American rock band Rain Parade, released in 1983. A key record in the Paisley Underground movement, it drew mixed reviews at the time. Robert Christgau of The Village Voice critiqued it for its imitation of psychedelic music from the 1960s, citing its "wimpy singing" and "repetitive guitar effects."

However, AllMusic's Denise Sullivan later praised the album as "clearly way ahead of their time," noting that the album's "traditional, gentle psychedelic pop" feels timeless. Critic Jim DeRogatis, in his 2003 book "Turn On Your Mind: Four Decades of Great Psychedelic Rock", lauded it as not only the best album from the Paisley Underground but also among the finest psychedelic rock albums of any era, with its uplifting melodies contrasting with dark, introspective themes.
