If you don't already know Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, you were either raised by wolves in a remote wilderness cave or there's something wrong with you. Seriously.
Yes, everyone has -- and is entitled to -- their own opinions on which is the finest Pink Floyd album, but regardless of individual tastes Dark Side Of The Moon is inarguably the one that stuck.
Pink Floyd's eighth studio LP was released on March 1, 1973, and has been a perpetual cultural presence ever since. It has sold 45 million copies worldwide and has spent 990 weeks -- the equivalent of 19 years -- on the Billboard 200 album chart and it turned Pink Floyd into a stadium act and I defy you to flip on the radio any day of the week without hearing "Money" within a matter of hours. It's just a massive album. And while it might be a tad overplayed, it's also a perfect album, right down to the iconic prism image on the cover. No doubt there are scattered pockets of the planet unaware of Dark Side Of The Moon's existence, but you can bet even they've seen the t-shirt.
