Pete Rock's 2015 instrumental hip-hop magnum opus PeteStrumentals 2 returns to vinyl for the first time since its original pressing. The original PeteStrumentals record set the standard for instrumental hip-hop albums and the sequel takes this standard and pumps it up to the next level.

Before there was Dilla, there was Pete Rock. American producer, DJ and rapper Peter O. Phillips (Pete Rock) started his career as one-half of Pete Rock & CL Smooth. Pete Rock found early success with remixes of other artists' tracks. After Rock & CL Smooth broke up, Pete Rock started a solo career mixing jazz samples with hip-hop beats. The foundations that Pete Rock laid for jazz rap allowed artists like J-Dilla and A Tribe Called Quest to flourish.

This 2024 reissue is pressed on a limited edition metallic gold vinyl and includes a new oil-painted cover by KipDaFog, released via Mello Music.
