Max Romeo (born Maxwell Livingston Smith on November 22, 1944) is a Jamaican reggae and roots reggae musician who has found chart success both in Jamaica and the United Kingdom. He gained popularity with several hits alongside the vocal group the Emotions. His 1968 song "Wet Dream," known for its explicit lyrics, played a significant role in introducing a new style of reggae.
Featuring Lee Perry's "Upsetters", this album, along with The Heptones' "Party Time" and Junior Murvin's "Police and Thieves", both released in 1977, form part of the acclaimed "holy trinity" of Lee "Scratch" Perry-produced Black Ark records.
