Leviathan, released in 2004 on Relapse Records, is the second album by American heavy metal band Mastodon and their first concept album, loosely inspired by Herman Melville’s 1851 novel Moby Dick. The tracks "Iron Tusk", "Naked Burn" and "Blood and Thunder" were promoted as singles, with music videos produced for "Iron Tusk", "Blood and Thunder" and "Seabeast". In 2004, Leviathan earned Album of the Year honours from Revolver, Kerrang!, and Terrorizer magazines. MetalSucks later named it the best metal album of the 21st century in 2009 and 2015.
2024 reissue printed on white & green splatter vinyl and released via Relapse Records.
