Formed in 1976, Marie et les Garçons were initially called Femme Fatale, reflecting their rebellious attitude and musical tastes. The original lineup included Marie Girard, Patrick Vidal, Erik Fitoussi, Christian Faye, and Philippe Girard. By 1977, Vidal had become the lead singer, and Jean-Marc Vallod had joined the band, the band were Influenced by early art-rock pioneers like the Velvet Underground and Roxy Music.
