(indie exclusive, sea blue vinyl) The sixth album from American rock band Little Feat features a change in artistic direction for the band. Many of the songs delve into the sounds of jazz fusion, blues and improvisational music.
When Little Feat entered the studio to record Time Loves a Hero, the band was experiencing significant internal strife, particularly between Lowell George and the rest of the members. George was struggling with various addictions and growing discontent with the band's inclination towards jazz fusion-inspired jams. To address the tensions, the band enlisted Ted Templeman, who had previously worked on their debut and produced Sailin' Shoes, to mediate the recording sessions. Although George was not pleased with this decision, his limited involvement in the album likely stemmed from his overall frustration and declining health. As a result, he contributed minimally to the record, writing only one song, the pleasant but relatively unremarkable "Rocket in My Pocket," and co-writing "Keepin' Up with the Joneses" with Paul Barrere.
