The second album by American funk group Lafayette Afro-Rock Band Soul Makossa comes to vinyl for its first official remastered reissue, remastered by The Cavery from the original tapes.
Lafayette Afro Rock Band were formed in Long Island, New York in 1970. The band relocated to Paris after their formation and were extremely inspired by the rock and Afro-beat of the Parisian music scene. The band did not receive much fanfare during their lifetime but have since developed a cult following for their extensive use of breakbeats. The band's songs have been sampled by several culturally significant hip-hop artists including LL Cool J and Biz Markie.
2024 reissue on black vinyl released via Strut Recordings.
