Kahan, Noah: Stick Season (2LP) [REPUBLIC]
*Stick Season* is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, who co-produced the album with Gabe Simon. Released on October 14, 2022, by Mercury Records and Republic Records, the album was supported by the singles "Stick Season" and "Northern Attitude."
An expanded edition, *Stick Season (We'll All Be Here Forever)*, came out on June 9, 2023, featuring seven additional tracks, including an extended version of "The View Between Villages." On February 9, 2024, another version titled *Stick Season (Forever)* was released, which includes all the collaborations as well as three new original songs: the collaborative tracks "You're Gonna Go Far" and "Paul Revere," and the single "Forever."
Kahan started writing the album in his hometown of Strafford, Vermont, in 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, feelings of loneliness, burnout from industry pressures, and self-discovery led him to shift from his previous indie pop style to a more folk-oriented sound. Influenced by Phoebe Bridgers and Sam Fender, he aimed to infuse his writing with "unprecedented detail."
In an interview with WPTZ shortly after the album’s release, Kahan referred to the album as a "love letter to New England."
Now, is he saying "saw her mom" or "soccer mom?"
