(2LP, Metallic silver vinyl) Justin Timberlake's dynamic follow-up to "The 20/20 Experience", blends pop, R&B, and neo-soul with darker, more energetic production, exploring themes of love and heartbreak.
The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, the fourth studio album by American pop singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake, released on September 27, 2013, via RCA Records. It acts as the second half of a larger two-part project, following The 20/20 Experience. Like its predecessor, the album blends pop with neo-soul and classic soul influences, diving into themes of romance, intimacy, and relationships. Timberlake collaborated with producers Timbaland and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon to craft the album's nostalgic sound.
The album is a continuation of the musical journey Justin Timberlake began with The 20/20 Experience, released earlier in 2013. While the first half of the project was lauded for its experimental approach to pop, soul, and R&B, 2 of 2 presents a more raw and energetic side of Timberlake’s artistry, incorporating heavier, more aggressive beats. Upon release, The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 350,000 copies in its first week. This achievement marked Timberlake's second number-one album in 2013 and his third overall in the US.
2024 reissue pressed on two metallic silver vinyl, released via Legacy Recordings.
