American contemporary R&B group Durand Jones & The Indications double single Witchoo/Love Will Work It Out arrives (again) on 7-inch blue vinyl via Colemine Records.
"Witchoo" pushes along with a driving bassline from Mike Montgomery, while vocalists Aaron Frazer and Durand Jones's harmonies imbue the song with an understated confidence. Like the great soul songs "Playa Playa" and"What's Going On" "Witchoo" is interwoven with ambient conversations that give the track a live feel.
"Love Will Work It Out" finds frontman Durand Jones reflecting on the state of the U.S.A. in 2020. Durand Jones croons about not giving up hope amidst a climate of fear, supported by a tight rhythm and jazzy keyboard comping.
