Repress of the indie band's breakthrough album on double gold vinyl.
Combining the 1990 and 1991 versions of Gold Mother, this newly reissued edition includes the iconic anthem 'Sit Down" as well as "How Was It For You", "Come Home (Flood Mix)" and "Lose Control." Blurring the lines of post punk and indie rock, James boasts some well crafted hits and clever riffs that are bound to send you right back to the nineties.
The guitar/vocals on the album sit somewhere between baggy and britpop styles with a little jangle pop thrown in for good measure. Some tracks are clearly meant for pop radio play while others, most notably the title track are closer to the jammier baggy elements of their peers. With their third album, James started to solidify their brand of ecclectic pop that would define them for the next two decades.
