(Clear vinyl) the 2003 album by Finnish gothic rock band H.I.M. established them as a house hold name on the global metal stage.
After releasing their controversially poppy third record Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights Finish gothic rock H.I.M immediately started working on a new album. They hired Hiili Hiilesmaa (who had previously worked on the band's debut album) to produce with a focus on creating a raw and organic sound. The album that resulted from this period is called Love Metal and it is considered by many critics to be H.I.M.'s greatest album.
H.I.M. sold over 10 million albums during the band's lifetime. The band were known for their distinctive melding of metal, gothic rock and melancholic. The band coined their eclectic genre as love metal. After a long career of recording and playing live shows since 1997 the band decided to play their final show at the Helldone Festival on New Year's Eve 2017.
