Celebrate the 10th aniversary of the Juno Award-winning third album from Grimes. The album pushed Montreal's DIY scene into the mainstream in 2012 with its enticing blend of synth-pop, dream-pop, and experimental R&B.
Released in 2012 via 4AD, the third album from Canadian musician Grimes, Visions, fuses synth-pop, dream pop, and experimental influences, the album features hit singles "Oblivion" and "Genesis," which secured Grimes' place in global music charts and critical acclaim. Recorded entirely on GarageBand, Visions emerged from a psychotically paced three-week recording process, blending Roland Juno-G synths, vocal pedals, and samplers, creating what Grimes called “the beginning of the future".
Widely celebrated for its genre-blending, hypnotic sound, Visions won a Juno Award, was nominated for the Polaris Prize, and earned spots on year- and decade-end lists, cementing Grimes as a defining voice in electronic and pop music.
2024 10th Anniversary Edition reissue pressed on 180g-green and magenta galaxy coloured vinyl, includes lacquers cut by Barry Grint, alchemy mastering at AIR, listening notes and an art print by Grimes, released via Vinyl ME, Please as a part of VMP Essentials.
