(Translucent green vinyl) the highly anticipated new album from indie pop legends Foster the People fuses socially conscious COVID-era lyrics with extremely danceable 70s-influenced instrumentals.
Paradise State of Mind, the highly anticipated fourth studio album from indie pop sensation Foster the People marks their first release through Atlantic Records.
After a seven-year hiatus since their 2017 album Sacred Hearts Club, the band is back with a vibrant fusion of late 70s influences including disco, funk, gospel, and jazz, all while exploring themes inspired by the seismic shifts of the COVID-19 era. The album draws a compelling parallel between the cultural landscape of the late 1970s to the tumultuous times of the early 2020s.
The first single from the album, "Lost in Space," landed on May 31, 2024, bringing a fresh disco flair. The infectious "Take Me Back" followed on June 28, 2024, and "Chasing Low Vibrations" hit the airwaves on July 26, 2024.
Paradise State of Mind marks a new chapter for the band, as it is their first release without drummer Mark Pontius, who left in October 2021, and their final album with guitarist Sean Cimino, who departed three months before its release.
Pressed on a translucent green vinyl and released via Atlantic Records in 2024.
