The debut release by American metal band Exhorder Slaughter In the Vatican sent shock waves through the American heavy metal scene upon its release in 1990. The album can be slow (but never tender) and methodical but it also can burst your brains with the unrelenting pace of drummer Chris Nail's double kick, its guitars are down-tuned and thick with crusty distortion.
Slaughter In the Vatican was inducted into the famed Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame in 2018 and this 2024 limited edition reissue on clear & black marbled vinyl is released via Music On Vinyl.
