Duke Ellington's grammy award winning 1967 concept album returns to vinyl for a limited run of 1500 orange vinyl.
American jazz pianist Duke Ellington's 1967 concept album Far East Suite features compositions written by Ellington and his long-time collaborator Billy Strayhorn. Far East Suite is one of the last albums Strayhorn worked on in his lifetime before his death in May 1967.
Inspired by the Duke Ellington Orchestra's tour through Asia the album features a fusion of traditional blues and jazz tonality with Eastern modes. The album had a monumental impact on the Asian American jazz movement.
