Brat has quickly catapulted British pop singer Charli XCX into the international spotlight, blending mid-2000s rave, hyper-pop, and experimental art-pop influences. The album, celebrated for balancing hedonistic energy with emotional depth, has rapidly garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades including a Mercury Prize nomination, Featuring a diverse array of producers, including A.G. Cook, Easyfun, Cirkut, George Daniel, and Charli herself. Brat boasts a plethora of boundary-pushing hits including "Club Classics", "360" and "Von Dutch".
Charli XCX, born Charlotte Emma Aitchison in 1992, emerged from the underground music scene with her innovative approach to pop in the late 2000s. She gained widespread recognition with her collaborations on Icona Pop's "I Love It" and Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" which became massive hits. Since then, Charli has released several critically acclaimed albums, including True Romance, Sucker and Charli, each showcasing her unique sound and artistic evolution. Known for her bold, experimental style and strong hyper-pop influence, she continues to push boundaries and inspire countless left-of-centre pop artists to chase their own sound.
The deluxe version of Brat features three new tracks. "Hello Goodbye" channels a crush-addled vibe, while "Guess" sees Charli XCX daring her subject to guess the colour of her underwear, critics praised the song as unapologetically flirty and suggestive and "Spring Breakers", in which Charli hints that her edgy persona keeps her out of mainstream music industry events.
Pressed on double white vinyl and released via Warner Music in 2024.
