Sabrina Carpenter's runaway 2024 hit Short 'n' Sweet gets the double-disc "deluxe" treatment on azure blue vinyl with a sassy new gatefold cover and five bonus tracks.
To become a genuine global pop phenomenon you've first got to drop the record that elevates you to that mythical "next level."
For former teen starlet Sabrina Carpenter, Short 'N' Sweet was that record: an immaculately put-together collection of pristinely perfect pop tunes that already sound like they've been around forever because they will be around forever. And, make no mistake, the indelible "Espresso," the bittersweet "Please Please Please" and the sassy "Taste" ain't goin' anywhere. Carpenter worked closely with collaborators such as Jack Antonoff (AKA Taylor Swift's studio BFF), One Direction producer John Ryan and A-list songwriter Ian Kirkpatrick to make this album count, and it worked. Short 'N' Sweet is up there with Charli XCX's Brat, Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department and Chappell Roan's late-blooming The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess as one of 2024's most in-demand recordings.
Island Records is issuing a two-disc gatefold "deluxe" edition of the record pressed on azure blue vinyl for Valentine's Day 2025 -- which is kinda ironic since Short 'N' Sweet mostly deals with bad boyfriends and relationships gone sideways -- which will feature five extra songs: "15 Minutes," "Couldn't Make It Any Harder," "Busy Woman," "Bad Reviews" and a brand-new version of "Please Please Please" featuring fellow pint-sized pop-culture icon Dolly Parton.
Did we mention Sabrina came to visit our Queen location last year? We probably did. She bought three copies of Short 'N' Sweet. Maybe she'll come back for more. She's part of the family now...
