(2LP) Bryson Tiller's self-titled fourth album, marks his return to the spotlight after nearly four years, blending smooth R&B vocals and trap influences, reaffirming his legacy as an artist who consistently pushes the boundaries of R&B.
Bryson Tiller’s self-titled fourth studio album marks his long-awaited return to the spotlight. Released on April 5, 2024, through TrapSoul and RCA Records, this album breaks a nearly four-year period of silence since his last full-length release, Anniversary, in October 2020. With production spearheaded by Charlie Heat, alongside contributions from HeyMicki, Vinylz, Scotty Lavell Coleman, Poo Bear, and Sasha Sirota, among others, the album boasts a diverse sonic palette unlike anything Tiller has released before. It also features guest appearances from the talented Victoria Monét and Clara La San.
The album arrives as a polished, coherent body of contemporary R&B that stays true to yet also pushes the boundaries of Tiller's signature blend of smooth vocals, introspective lyricism, and trap-influenced instrumentals. AllMusic’s Andy Kellman praised the album for its emotional range, describing it as a cohesive collection of "sweet nothings, boasts, grievances, and ultimatums", delivered through modern R&B ballads. Jessica Rogers of Clash commended the minimal guest features, highlighting how they allow Tiller to demonstrate his "incredible versatility" across a "sonic rollercoaster." HipHopDX’s Will Schube noted that Tiller’s vocal strength anchors the project, helping him recontextualize the R&B genre.
Bryson Tiller not only signals a major comeback but also reaffirms Tiller’s status as a top-selling artist who can blend tender introspection with genre-shaping innovation.
Released on double vinyl via TrapSoul/RCA in 2024.
