(20th-Anniversary edition, pink & blue vinyl) American post-hardcore band Blood Brothers are celebrating the 20th-anniversary of their seminal fourth album with a limited vinyl reissue set for release in Q4 2024.
Crimes is the fourth studio album by American post-hardcore band The Blood Brothers, released on October 12, 2004, through V2 Records. Marking the band's debut with a major label, the album was produced by John Goodmanson and recorded over two months in Seattle.
Many of the album's lyrics serve as a political response to the mass media and the military policies of the Bush administration, heavily influenced by the 2004 election year. Vocalist Jordan Blilie reflected, "I thought the collective dissent of our generation would bring about positive change. When that didn’t happen, I felt like the bottom had fallen out". "Feed Me to the Forest" portrays the impact of our hyper-industrialized era. "Trash Flavored Trash" addresses the emptiness of news media. "Teen Heat" critiques the distribution company ARTISTdirect, which the band had issues with. "Celebrator" and "Devastator" offer direct criticisms of the U.S. military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.
2024 20th-anniversary reissue pressed on pink & blue vinyl, includes an expanded double LP with B-Sides & etching and a twenty-page booklet with new liner notes and photos. Released via Epitaph Records.
