After quietly releasing their self-titled debut album in 1999 while still in college, American Football disbanded to pursue other projects, only to reunite 15 years later with a growing fanbase in the underground/emo scene.

The album later ranked #6 on Rolling Stone's "40 Greatest Emo Albums of All Time," with Pitchfork calling its deluxe reissue the "Best New Reissue" and declaring it the "most influential album in the genre." To celebrate the album's 25th anniversary, Polyvinyl is releasing a remastered edition with re-imagined artwork and packaging. The album is pressed at 45RPM across 2 LPs for optimal audio quality.
