(Blue vinyl) The legendary hard-bop classic returns to 180g vinyl featuring breathtaking performances of "Love For Sale" and "Autumn Leaves".
The sole Blue Note album by legendary jazz alto saxophonist Cannonball Adderly Somethin' Else opens with an exquisite performance of "Autumn Leaves". The band on Somethin' Else is quite literally something else, pianist Hank Jones, bassist Sam Jones, drummer Art Blakey and the legendary Miles Davis on trumpet.
Somethin' Else was recorded at the Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey. At the time of recording Adderly was a member of Miles Davis's First Great Quintet. Davis plays several solos on the album, composed the title track and chose most of the material.
This 2024 blue vinyl reissue of the timeless hard-bop classic, remastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes is released via the Blue Note 85 Classic Vinyl Series.
